Man held for running fake educational institute

HYDERABAD: Police has arrested a person who was allegedly running an unauthorised educational institute.

Syed Afsaruddin alias Afsar, who posed himself as Director of National Institute of Secondary Education, was apprehended by City Police Commissioner's Task Force. Computers and 200 fake educational certificates of various courses were also seized from the institute's premises, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) A S C Wesley said.

Syed was earlier arrested in a similar case. He was sent to jail last year while he was running a fake university, Golkonda University of Hyderabad, and also other such bodies. After his release from the jail in August, he continued the illegal business at Sundernagar and Erragadda localities and floated fake institutions like "Hyderabad Educational & Research Centre", the DCP said.
